Sound isn’t the only sense stimulated positively by bits of imperfection. Tiny impurities are what distinguish pure synthetic scents from natural ones. Something I learned from good friend Costa Piccini who is an industry expert in the fragrance field. Chemists can make molecule for molecule reproductions of the key chemicals that stimulate the various smells, but what makes the overall aroma both distinctive and appealing are the miniscule bits of other molecules that insinuate themselves when the compounds are manufactured by the imperfect world of nature.
